The scale of the new development in Andermatt means that there is a good selection of property for sale and investors will find something to suit all budges.

With the recent $1bn investment from Egyptian develpopers Orascom Andermatt is now served by a fast and modern ski system.

The Gemsstock area offers some challenging red and black runs and is a paradise for off-piste skiers and powder hounds with plenty of 900m descents available.

On the other side of the ski region, the Gütsch-Oberalp-Sedrun area offers the bulk of the piste skiing with plenty of sunny and scenic slopes that will appeal to families with children.

Situated on a natural plateau you are surrounded on all sides by jaw-dropping mountain scenery.

Andermatt has invested heavily in its summer infrastructure over the last few years and now offers world-class biking and hiking, as well as more thrilling adventures such as rock climbing and canyoning.

For a more leisurely day in the village you can enjoy the 18 hole Andermatt Swiss Alps Golf Course or a relaxing day at the spa.

Golf fans are well catered for. The Andermatt course was voted the best in Switzerland in 2017 but it is also supplemented by three further 9-hole course at Sedrun, Realp and Obergestlen.

Detached chalets for sale are rare in Andermatt and the market is dominated by new build apartments - mainly those being built by Egyptian developer Orascom.
