Winter in Kvitfjell

Kvitfjell was developed for the 1994 Winter Olympics and remains a fixture on the alpine World Cup circuit. Today, its three connected mountainsides provide 36 slopes, 14 lifts and 34 km of alpine pistes. The 854 m vertical drop is one of the longest in Norway and the snow pretty much guaranteed! 

The east side contains the resort's best-known race terrain and demanding runs. West and Varden add wide cruising, family areas and progression terrain, so the ski area works for more than experts. Two family areas and ski schools are there to support beginners and kids while the snow parks give freestyle skiers and snowboarders some exciting further terrain. 

Beyond the lifts, Kvitfjell connects with a much larger network of groomed cross-country routes. This combination of alpine and Nordic skiing is one of Kvitfjell's strongest advantages for owners planning regular winter use.

Kvitfjell's dining is spread across its three mountainsides rather than concentrated in one town centre. The east has established slope-side restaurants and après-ski around the hotel and race terrain. The west offers several lunch, pizza and evening options around Skitorget, and Varden adds high-mountain dining.

Current resort facilities include ski rental and schools, sports shops and slope-accessible food shopping, while larger supermarkets are available in Fåvang.
